The West Coast tour incorporates the West Coast National Park, the Langebaan Lagoon, and the dramatic Swartland vistas. The route passes through wild fynbos and wheat fields (luscious green in winter brown in summer) and visits pristine multi-mile white sand beaches.
The West Coast National Park is a bird watchers paradise. It is home to game and an astounding number of sea birds, waders, seed and insect eaters and raptors. The wild flower displays from August to October, make this park and the lagoon a must for all nature lovers.
The sheltered islands and salt marshes are home to vast concentrations of migrant waders from the northern hemisphere and thousands of seabirds. During the spring the Strandveld is embroidered with a tapestry of multi-hued flowers and the many antelope to be seen in a setting that is as unique as it is idyllic.
